SCULPTURE STUDIO & PRIVATE GALLERY — TIRANA

Form carved
from silence.

A studio of sculptural inquiry. Each work emerges from material resistance — the stone's refusal, the bronze's memory.

STUDIO STATEMENT
"We do not impose form on matter.
We negotiate with it —
listening for the weight already
waiting inside."
— Den Cela, Founding Sculptor
THE ARTIST

Den Cela

Born in Tirana, 1984. Trained in classical sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, followed by a residency at the Fonderia Artistica in Rome. Returned to Albania in 2016 to establish Kouros — a studio devoted to the slow disciplines of carving, casting, and the patient dialogue between hand and stone.

His work explores the tension between permanence and ephemerality, drawing on Mediterranean sculptural traditions while embracing the rawness of volcanic and metamorphic materials.

MATERIALS

What we work with

01

Metal

Lost-wax casting in our foundry. Each pour a controlled catastrophe — molten metal finding the void left by vanished wax.

02

Wood

Oak, walnut, and olive — carved with hand tools, respecting the grain's direction. Each piece retains the warmth of its living origin.

03

Sculptures

Stone and clay — marble, basalt, terracotta. The ancient disciplines of subtractive and additive form, preserved in fire and chisel.

04

3D Concepts

Computational tools as a new kind of chisel. Parametric form-finding rendered, printed, and sometimes cast from digital originals.
